GROUP ART WORKSHOPS

People who claim to "have never painted before and are not particularly keen to learn now" can find themselves participating enthusiastically in a group painting process when there are clear objectives to the creative exercise. The objectives for the group art workshops I have devised and presented are Painting to Music, Aura Painting, Healing Art and 'Art Surgery', The Path of Life- a personal biography, Conflict Resolution - "Paint Your Dragon", Visual Management to aid group decision making processes.

This type of workshop is best described as 'holistic' as against 'academic' and requires a presenter who is a facilitator rather than an instructor. A successful presenter for this type of workshop should have a friendly and confident personality and the ability to quickly identify the needs of both the individual and the group. Painting skill and qualification have no relevance in this area. Confidence comes from experience and this can only gained by actively working with groups over a period of time.  The several workshops described below have provided me with years of exciting moments working with a variety of groups worldwide. I think the time is now right to pass them on so that they can be used by others - or better still, inspire others to design and develop their own portfolio of workshops.
